Drill and Ceremonial Parades
As part of a military-themed organisation, Cadets regularly conduct Drill practice and participate in Ceremonial Parades. Drill offers an excellent opportunity for Cadets to hone their coordination and teamwork skills.

We do...
Flying and Gliding
One of the most exciting activities within the organisation; Cadets will be given the opportunity to experience flying in powered aircraft and unpowered gliders whilst under the guidance of a qualified pilot.

We do...
Sports and Athletics
By participating in sports and athletic activities, Cadets are given the opportunity to engage in fun and healthy competition whilst also learning the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork.

We do...
Shotgun and Range Shooting
Following extensive training and under close professional supervision, Cadets can qualify to shoot on a number different fire-arms including air rifle, shotgun, and full bore.

We do...
Adventure Training
Cadets get the opportunity to take part in many exciting outdoor activities – such as archery, rock climbing, and mountain biking – to name just a few – which is a fantastic way to keep active whilst having great fun!

“The Air Cadets has provided me with a plethora of opportunities during my service.
As an adult member of staff, I am able to support and develop young people. It is rewarding to see our Cadets grow in confidence and put into practice the skills they have learned.
On a personal level, the organisation has helped me to grow both my own confidence and my abilities. It has given me a platform to gain new qualifications which have been transferable to my work life outside of the Air Cadets.”

“Since joining 316 it has brought out a different character in me. The squadron offers many different and unique opportunities and allows socialisation with the rest of the cadet forces across the Greater Manchester wing. My highlight of my time at 316 has got to be the the A-400M flight. It is a once in a lifetime experience that I’d never be able to do outside of the cadet forces, and has engaged my interest in joining the Royal Air Force.“
